DO YOUR HOMEWORK

There is a story making the rounds of the internet and the Bigfoot Community. If you had done your homework, [and a heartfelt thank you to those of you who did] you would have immediately known that the story was fake and it wouldn't have over 120,000 shares. The complete story is below [sans the drawing] :

DCNR officials have confirmed the partially decomposed body found on the south end of Pymatuning Reservoir near Jamestown is that of the elusive Sasquatch. The body has been sent to a lab in Erie for further testing to determine, age, sex, and origin. DCNR officials have declined further comment besides confirming that it was indeed a Sasquatch.

Here is a link to the original page.
Now, how can you tell if this is a fake story? Well, by going to the website, of course. What gives it away? At first glance, the absence of details in the story is suspect. Second, the headlines of other stories at the right of the page. [I mean, really : "People who own horses are Horse Owners" and "Local Cinderford Man Caught Having Sex With Injured Wild Boar While Drunk"??????]
And then a BIG hint. The magic little button you see as you scroll down the page : "CREATE A PRANK".
It continues : "Prank your friends! Write an article and prank your friends for fun! Bullying is forbidden!"
And then they take you through the four easy steps to create your prank.

TITLE : 1. TIPS :You must be creative but keep in mind to make it fun.
          2. Choose a catchy title for your joke. Make your friends curious.
DESCRIPTION : Be creative and make your friends curious.
IMAGE : Upload one or search one. Make sure they are free of use!
MODERATE : Any bullying, racist, homophobic or pornographic jokes are prohibited. Do not hesitate to report any inappropriate content by contacting us via the Contact Form.

And then finally is their disclaimer at the bottom of the page :

This website is an entertainment website, jokes are created by users. These are humourous jokes, fantasy, fictional, that should not be seriously taken or as a source of information.

Do your homework, people. Be as vigilant as you are critical of fellow researchers and the  evidence that they try to share.
